怕哺乳影響體型美這是不少年輕特別是愛漂亮的母親們的錯誤認識,她們擔心哺乳後身體發胖,下垂,影響體型美而拒絕哺乳。其實,婦女生育以後,不管是否采取母乳喂養,乳房都會有所改變。母乳喂養不但不會影響母親的體型,還能促進母親產後身體的複原,有利於減輕體重。乳母如果選戴合適的乳罩,斷奶後乳房也會基本恢複到原來的形狀。

過早摻加人工喂養乳母只要正確喂哺,在嬰兒4~6個月內基本可以滿足嬰兒的全部需要。如果過早給嬰兒添加牛奶或穀類食品,嬰兒吸吮母乳次數減少,會使母乳分泌減少,而且吃過多的牛奶或穀類食品還會加重嬰兒胃腸負擔,造成、或超重,影響嬰兒健康。

斷奶過晚斷奶過晚是我國農村普遍存在的問題。在人們的觀念中,認為延長母乳喂養期可為嬰兒提供豐富的營養,預防因斷奶、食品的汙染和配方不合理引起的腹瀉等疾病及。事實並非如此,哺乳期過長會致小兒營養不良,也使孩子失去了學習探索新事物的機會。

實驗表明,哺乳時間超過12個月的幼兒不願再多吃別的食物。一般來說,哺乳時間以11~12個月為宜。
